With many years of active dance teaching behind me I have to admit I find Argentine Tango to be by far the most interesting, most diverse and most exciting ballroom dance of all.
It is extensively based on the concept (on which most other dances are supposed to be) of leading and following. Though this sounds relatively simple, accomplishing these is the real challenge. Of course having the appropriate teacher and using a suitable teaching method will indeed make it simple.
Argentine Tango is actually the most practical and entertaining way of acquiring good leading and following skills. Once you have mastered this technique in tango it is going to be child’s play to get by proficiently in any other ballroom dances.
